Ricky Gervais at the Golden Globes – an event review – Michael’s remarks
Hello everybody! 🙂
Today’s Friday again! I suppose that this June weekend will be sunny and marvellous for you!
All in all, I decided to make your day by sharing with you my thoughts about an eminent British comedian.
I strongly believe this post will encourage you to look up more videos of the Golden Globes ceremony with this ridiculous satirist.
Have a pleasing reading!
Ricky Gervais at the Golden Globes – an event review
Ricky Gervais comes from England. He is a comedian and also a satirist. He is notorious for his black comedy jokes. Without a doubt, he is the most influential celebrity in the USA and England. Besides making a sketch comedy, Gervais is involved in charity. The comedian is also an actor, who appeared in ‚Night at the Museum’ or ‚Louie’.
The most unforgettable and the most controversial moment in Gervais’s career was his performance at the Golden Globe Award in 2016. The satirist, who was a host, allowed himself to joke at celebrities, guests and even the president of the Hollywood Foreign Press. What is more, the comedian’s gags were associated with topics as genitals, stereotypes or gender.
Ricky Gervais stepped on the stage and welcomed the guests with the words: ‚thank you [..] shut up!’. Then, he started his monologue: ‚I’m gonna be nice tonight, I’ve changed’. While telling humour, he selected the appropriate words of criticism to the chosen person. He arranged that tremendously. Everyone was laughing during his speech and sometimes was shocked by the monologue.
In my judgment, the satirist has made the ceremony exceptional. Gervais meant to draw the attention of the fames and people in front of Telly. Moreover, all the guests in Beverly Hilton Hotel would love to get the statuette and see an unconventional kind of hosting the live performance. I’ve watched an interview with Ricky Gervais, who came to the studio dressed in a tracksuit. The actor said that he had posted a photo on Instagram at the beginning of January because he would like to see haters’ comments about his figure. I want to press the point that the comedian is open-minded and he is not afraid of brickbats. This is the positive aspect that he showed us during the ceremony.
On the other hand, our society adores action and the mass culture. Watching the Golden Globe Award without amusement would be tedious. The organiser of this performance must have prepared something that could attract television viewers who are able to joke at politics, celebrities or religion.
All things considered, this happening engaged a lot of viewers to watch the entire show. Ricky Gervais has as many supporters as opponents, but I strongly believe that we could not treat ourselves seriously.
What do you feel about my opinion? Have you ever watched a ceremony of the Golden Globes? What is your viewpoint about these kinds of jokes and entertainment during a public event? Let me know in the comments about your impression.
See you in my next post!
